Rovio Entertainment released the first official Angry Birds sequel last week for iOS and Android devices. At the time of release, the company's goal was to reach 10 million downloads by the end of the month, according to Eric Seufert, vice president of user acquisition and network engagement. That goal turned out to be a modest one as Angry Birds 2 has surpassed 10 million downloads in less than a week, according to WSJ. Prior to release, there were questions as to whether Rovio could revive the franchise and thus far the answer is a resounding 'yes'. As of today, Angry Birds 2 is already the 45th highest-grossing mobile game on the iOS app store.
